I feel like I bought the Audi yesterday and it’s already been in a car accident. We had an early snow with frigid temperatures on November 13th and that made an accident likely. I was on Highway 287 going north and in the left-turn lane on Arapaho. The light turned yellow and I decided to stop because the car had been doing really well. It was icy under the snow and the anti-lock brakes stopped me before sliding into the intersection. All was well and no one was behind me.
Just then, someone in a Honda Accord slammed into my rear bumper. I didn’t see it coming at all, and maybe that’s a good thing. He was in the northbound lane next to me and tried to stop at the yellow light. He managed to do a turning slide into me, mangling my back bumper on the passenger side. It was 8AM and one degree — perfect conditions for standing outside to exchange insurance information. At least I was wearing a coat (he was not).
It went to the shop and I should be able to pick it up in a couple of days. I’ve been driving a rented Subaru Legacy for three weeks and it’s one of the most user unfriendly cars I think I’ve ever driven. At least now I know I’ll never own a Subaru. I miss my car!
