• Snowshoeing at Brainard Lake

I’ve lived in Colorado for most of my life, and yet I’ve never been snowshoeing.  I finally decided to check it out with a trip to Brainard Lake.  We rented all of our gear and got up to the area to find a lot of other people doing the same thing.  We had our snowshoes on for about 5 minutes, and then we carried them for the rest of our 4-mile hike.  Walking turned out to be a lot easier on the packed snow.  It was pretty fun!

I live in Denver, Colorado, and I love it here. I love to organize events and do fun things with my friends, so you'll see a lot of that here. My first group started in 2002 when I put TrailDamage.com together, and we're still going strong. That's where the term "Monicarchy" came from. Obviously, it's a play on my name, but it also reflects that my groups are rarely democracies. We usually go where I want and when I want to go, and I'm lucky to have friends with the same interests. I also organize a movie group, a dinner group, and a group focusing on random nonsense.  Even though I'm fortunate to reign as a monicarch in many situations, we can't have what we want all the time. I'll have things to say about that, of course, and you can find my ramblings here. Thanks for stopping by!
