I regularly have dinner with my friends and we’ve gone to some amazing restaurants. We tried something new this time, and decided to cook and eat at my house. We’re going to do this once a month at someone’s house.
I chose a theme (Greek food) but didn’t tell anyone else what it was. Then I built a menu and split up the ingredients between all of us, taking care to save the ingredients for myself that would give the theme away (for example, phyllo, Ouzo, and lamb). Everyone did their assigned grocery shopping and showed up to a Greek cocktail and some Greek snacks.
It was a great idea, but I planned too many things to cook. It took us seven hours to make everything, and we were all exhausted by the time we were eating our late dinner. But it was delicious! We had a great time, and the next dinners will only have a few courses.
